PMC has announced the latest round of immersive audio events to take place across Europe in Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in October. The events will bring together a selected group of sound engineers, music producers and studio owners for an insightful exploration of Dolby Atmos and the future of immersive sound in the music industry as well as general recording techniques.

The sessions begin on 3rd, 4th and 5th October with a three-day event in Madrid hosted by distributor SoundwareMedia supported by senior business development manager Dan Zimbelman. On the first day, renowned film sound re-recording mixer Michael Minkler will present a seminar at the Spanish Film Academy. Over the weekend of 4th and 5th October, result6, PMC6, PMC 6-2 and PMC 8-2 XBD models will be presented at ECAM (Madrid Film School) while, next door, SoundwareMedia’s own demo room will host timed slots including tailored demos for small groups of PMC result6 monitors in conjunction with an Avid S6 console.

This is followed by one-day sessions in the Netherlands and Belgium on 7th and 8th October, respectively, held in collaboration with distributor Joystick Audio. The first session takes place at Amsterdam’s Studio de Golf, featuring a 9.1.4 Dolby Atmos system with PMC 6-2 LCR channels and ci45 surrounds. Next day, the Belgian event will be at Alaska Studios in Lokeren, installed with an 11.1.6 Dolby Atmos setup of MB2S XBD LCR speakers and ci65 surrounds. Each day will offer private masterclasses, guided listening sessions and expert-led discussions culminating in an evening open house with drinks, talks and additional listening sessions. Mastering engineer Dale Becker, Dolby Atmos specialist and Universal Music Group’s director of audio at Nick Rives and PMC’s head of global studio products Maurice Patist will share their insights on immersive audio in music production, covering best practices, creative potential, and real-world applications.

On October 10th and 11th, PMC will partner with Klangfabrik Studios in Frankfurt to celebrate the grand opening of the studio’s new Dolby Atmos orchestral facility. The space is equipped with a 9.1.6 PMC system comprising MB3-XBD as stereo mains, an MB3 centre speaker, Ci series monitors for the surround and overhead channels and 8-2 SUB subwoofers. On 10th October, invited guests will be welcomed for a studio tour featuring live music, food and drinks, demonstrations and guided walkthroughs. Representing PMC will be CEO Oliver Thomas, senior business development manager Dan Zimbelman and head of global studio products Maurice Patist, accompanied by Dale Becker of Becker Mastering, Los Angeles, an acclaimed immersive audio expert. The following day, PMC will host a special masterclass for Klangfabrik staff and a select group of invited professionals. Led by Grammy-winning engineer, producer and long-time PMC user Tommy Vicari, this will focus on recording and mixing orchestral projects in immersive formats.
